Basic Life Support BLS (Formerly: Health Care Provider)

BLS (HCP) is an advanced Basic Life Support course for health care professionals who have a duty to respond to medical emergencies in a hospital or pre-hospital care setting such as an ambulance. This group includes physicians, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, SJA Brigade members, medical and nursing students.

 

This course meets ILCOR guidelines for Basic Life Support CPR.

 

Course content includes:

• resuscitation for adult, child, and infant including AR, 1 and 2 rescuer CPR with AED, first aid for choking and use of a bag-valve mask

• written examination

Annual certification in CPR and AED is recommended.

Basic Life Support BLS Renewal (Formerly: Health Care Provider Renewal)

​

This fast paced course covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time and is designed for medical + nursing students, physicians, dentists, nurses, dental hygienists, paramedics, respiratory therapists, other allied health care personnel, industrial emergency response teams, volunteer/career firefighters, SJA volunteers, and anyone who has taken the CPR Health Care Provide course and requires annual recertification.
